{"id":10294,"date":"2025-04-14T17:59:03","date_gmt":"2025-04-14T15:59:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/?p=10294"},"modified":"2025-04-14T18:02:19","modified_gmt":"2025-04-14T16:02:19","slug":"defending-the-nation-defence-minister-conveys-head-of-statesnsupport-to-troops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/en\/blog\/defending-the-nation-defence-minister-conveys-head-of-statesnsupport-to-troops\/","title":{"rendered":"DEFENDING THE NATION: DEFENCE MINISTER CONVEYS HEAD OF STATE\u2019SNSUPPORT TO TROOPS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This visit came just days after a terrorist attack on a joint post of the Defence and Security Forces in Wulgo, Sector III of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC), north of Gambaru in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, bordering the town of Fotokol in the Logone and Chari Division, Far-North Region highlighting the urgent need to strengthen security measures.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10288\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/soutien-aux-troupes-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"1125\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The visit had as objectives to convey the condolences and encouragement messages of the Head of State, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, to the troops engaged in various operations as well as to sought to fine-tune a new approach to better protect the people and safeguard the country\u2019s territorial integrity.<\/p>\n<p>During the visit, the Minister Delegate met with administrative, territorial, and regional commanders of the Fourth Joint Military and Gendarmerie Regions. At the Sector One Command Post of the Multinational Joint Tasks Forces at Mora, Beti Assomo Joseph conveyed a message of hope, comfort, and assurance from the Head of State to the troops. The minister assured the troops that the Head of State is aware of their sacrifices and pledged his total and infallible support to ameliorate their working conditions.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10290\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/soutien-aux-troupes-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1125\" height=\"750\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A poignant moment of the visit came when the Commander of Sector 1, Colonel Tiopkap Pierre Loti, accompanied the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence to the different wards where wounded soldiers brought from different theatres of operations were laid. Beti Assomo Joseph personally transmitted the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces\u2019 words of encouragement and speedy recovery to the wounded soldiers.<\/p>\n<p>The visit concluded with a common meal of cohesion, aimed at boosting the bonds of fraternity amongst the troops. This symbolic gesture underscored the importance of unity and solidarity in the face of adversity.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-10292\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/soutien-aux-troupes-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1125\" height=\"750\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Defence Minister\u2019s visit to Mora sent a strong message of support and commitment to the troops, as well as a clear warning to terrorist groups that Cameroon will not be intimidated. As the country continues to face regional security challenges, the Defence Minister\u2019s visit served as a timely reminder of the government\u2019s dedication to protecting its citizens and
