Minister Beti Assomo Joseph underscored the strategic importance of the ties binding the two neighbouring nations, noting that their shared 1,100-kilometre border exposes them to common threats, notably terrorism orchestrated by the Boko Haram sect.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-13892\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/CHAD-STRENGTHEN-2-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Discussions equally focused on cross-border insecurity, transhumance, illicit trafficking, arms circulation and the need for reinforced intelligence-sharing and joint military coordination.
