He urged Brigadier General Beko\u2019o Abondo to remain committed to duty and continue demonstrating the qualities that earned him his new rank.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-16200\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/BEKOO-ABONDO-3-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Minister Delegate also highlighted a significant milestone in the officer\u2019s career, noting that he is the first General to serve as Commander of the Presidential Guard.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-16204\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/BEKOO-ABONDO-4-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr Abondo Jean Francis expressed gratitude to the High Command for the confidence placed in the newly promoted General and appreciation for the recognition of his years of service.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-16216\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/BEKOO-ABONDO-7-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The celebration also featured the traditional wetting-down rituals, adding a touch of military tradition to the gathering.<\/p>\n<p>The evening was further enlivened by performances from renowned Cameroonian artistes, including Fran\u00e7ois Misse Ngoh, Tsimi Toro, Sandrine Nanga, Annie Anzouer, X Maleya among others, who joined family, friends and colleagues in celebrating the promotion.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-16224\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/BEKOO-ABONDO-9-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Brigadier General Beko\u2019o Abondo Raymond Jean Charles has served in several capacities, including Company Commander, Air Defence Artillery, Army Reconnaissance Group and Commander of the Presidential Guard, a position he currently holds.<\/p>\n<p><img
