Mahamat Idriss D\u00e9by, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph and the Minister of the Armies, Ex-Servicemen and War Victims of the Republic of Chad, Daoud Yaya Brahim alongside experts on defence and security issues converged at the Conference Hall of the Ministry of Defence to discuss issues of mutual interest between Cameroon and Chad.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The meeting between Beti Assomo Joseph and Daoud Yaya Brahim came on the heels of deliberations held by Chiefs of Staff and security experts of the two countries who brainstormed on common security threats and a way forward to curb it.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Speaking during the meeting, Minister Beti Assomo Joseph earmarked that, Cameroon and Chad have been battling on security challenges, thus the initiative of the two heads of states was necessary to address the issues at hand which include amongst others; maritime insecurity in the Gulf of Guinea, extreme violence by the Boko Haram Sect, cross border insecurity, cattle theft, kidnapping for ransom, the circulation of arms, highway banditry and other related security imbalance.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It should be recalled that, the Chiefs of Staff and security experts on the first day of the meeting brainstormed on the bilateral military ties which encompassed joint training exercises, intelligence sharing and coordinated operations against common threats such as the incursion of the Boko Haram Sect.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

At the end of the working session, the two Ministers scrutinized the result of their consultations and they came out with proposals and recommendations that will enable the two Head of States to further strengthen peace and stability in a harmonious and truly sustainable development between both countries.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

It should be noted that, the military cooperation between Cameroon and Chad reflects a shared commitment in promoting regional security and stability and by working together to address common security threats.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
