Logone-and Chari: a dreaded firearms trafficker arrested
Acting on information, the Waza Gendarmerie Company arrested a 38-year-old ex-convict and firearms trafficker at the entrance to the city of Zigagué.

The suspect is head of a ring of firearms traffickers. Arrested on 27 January 2025, in a hired Peugeot 504, a vehicle used for commercial purpose on the Kousseri-Maroua route. This trafficking ring is believed to operate in the northern region of Cameroon and in a neighbouring country.

During his arrest, the Gendarmes discovered two automatic pistols alongside two loaded magazines with 09 rounds each. In addition, two expired identity cards and a passport were seized. All these were hidden in his luggage. It should be noted that, the suspect was operating under multiple identities to carry out his criminal activities.

The firearms trafficker is currently being interrogated at the Waza Gendarmerie Company Headquarters, where the investigation is on going
