After cross-checking, an investigation was launched.
This led to the arrest of 06 individuals, including a lady. Aged between 26 and 41, the dealers who were divided into two groups, were found in possession of about 02 kilogrammes of crack resin in different industrialised forms, known as “hashish”. This crack resin is actually extracted from female flowers of coca, before being industrialised and packaged in various forms.
The dealers confessed that this new form of drug is imported from foreign countries. It is often concealed in luggage in order to get around the vigilance of airport security services.
Interestingly, both groups of dealers were not aware of each other, but they were involved in the same dangerous business, and they both sourced their supplies from foreign countries.
The arrested traffickers revealed that this harmful psychotropic substance is sold in snack bars, nightclubs and other well-known posh merriment spots in the capital city. This drug is mainly used by young people aged between 15 and 30.
Do not be shocked: a single gram of this drug costs CFA 25,000, and small brick-shaped packages are sold to retailers at a unit price of CFA 350,000.
The National Gendarmerie once again urges the population to be vigilant and to report any suspicious person.
