To achieve this, the training focuses on two modules: Law Enforcement and Serving as Law Enforcement Professionals.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5787\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/gendarmerie-nationale\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/Formation-continue-7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"719\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Regarding the module dubbed Law Enforcement, trainees refreshed their skills in the followings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Handling a sit-in,<\/li>\n<li>Techniques for deterring demonstrators,<\/li>\n<li>Using launchers and grenades,<\/li>\n<li>Responding to firearm attack on a unit,<\/li>\n<li>Basic patrol tactics.<\/li>\n<li><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5785\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/gendarmerie-nationale\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/Formation-continue-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"719\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5783\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/gendarmerie-nationale\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/Formation-continue-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"719\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Regarding the module dubbed Serving as Law Enforcement Professionals, trainees were refreshed on\u205a<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Combat rescue,<\/li>\n<li>Conducting investigations in buildings,<\/li>\n<li>Hostage rescue,<\/li>\n<li>Hostage rescue exercises,<\/li>\n<li>Training on shooting and combat weapons,<\/li>\n<li>Basic use of firearms,<\/li>\n<li>Fundamentals of marksmanship.<\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5781\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/gendarmerie-nationale\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/Formation-continue-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"719\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>At a practical level, trainees were drilled in shooting and different mock drills, such as crowd dispersal in the event of a strike, hostage rescue, and other scenarios.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5779\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/gendarmerie-nationale\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/Formation-continue-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The nine-day refresher course ends tomorrow with mock drills that will be attended by senior officials and officers of the National Gendarmerie.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5777\" src=\"https:\/\/mindef.gov.cm\/gendarmerie-nationale\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/10\/Formation-continue-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1389\" height=\"640\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With a view to ensuring the operational readiness of intervention and law enforcement units, 182 Gendarmes from two squadrons of the Centre Gendarmerie Legion, namely 100 from the First Squadron Group and 82 from the Mfoundi Territorial Gendarmerie Regiment, are undergoing refresher training at the Advanced Law Enforcement Training Centre (CPTMO) in Awae.
