70th Anniversary of the Nigerian Navy: Cameroon Navy Represented
From 31 May to 4 June 2026, following an invitation from the Nigerian Navy, the Cameroon Navy participated in the celebrations marking the 70th Anniversary of the Nigerian Navy in Lagos, Nigeria.

Representing the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Jean MENDOUA, Rear Admiral Hilary ADE NKWENTI attended this important maritime event. Meanwhile, CNS LA SANAGA proudly flew the Cameroonian flag during the International Fleet Review, presided over by His Excellency Bola Ahmed TINUBU, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as during the International Maritime Exercise alongside ships from allied nations.

Upon arriving at the Port of Lagos on 31 May 2026, CNS LA SANAGA and its crew received a warm ceremonial welcome from the Nigerian Navy’s Western Naval Command, highlighted by a vibrant military band performance.

The programme also featured the 6th Sea Power for Africa Symposium, held under the theme: “Leveraging Technology for Enhanced Maritime Security.”

This participation reflects the strong maritime cooperation and enduring friendship between the two navies, as well as with the navies of allied nations, all committed to promoting regional maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea.
