    la communication, la sensibilisation et le d\u00e9pistage. Pour ce mois de novembre, l\u2019activit\u00e9 majeure s\u2019articule autour de la communication. Pour ce faire, nous vous proposons cet article. En mati\u00e8re de sant\u00e9 publique, la sant\u00e9 militaire est un acteur majeur dans la lutte contre le VIH\/SIDA. Il est question pour nous de vous faire un zoom de la lutte contre le VIH dans les forces de d\u00e9fense et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

    La mission principale de la sant\u00e9 militaire se r\u00e9sume\u00a0 au soutien sanitaire des forces en temps de paix et en temps de crise. Son action s\u2019\u00e9tend \u00e9galement \u00e0 l\u2019effort de sant\u00e9 publique dans le cadre de la contribution au d\u00e9veloppement de la nation. C\u2019est sous ce double prisme que le VIH\/SIDA fait l\u2019objet d\u2019une pr\u00e9occupation permanente par la hi\u00e9rarchie militaire. Nous ne saurons parler du VIH\/SIDA sans faire connaitre \u00e0 nos auditeurs de quoi il s\u2019agit exactement. Il faut donc pour ce faire rappeler que l\u2019acronyme VIH\u00a0 signifie Virus de l\u2019Immunod\u00e9ficience Humaine. L\u2019acronyme SIDA quant \u00e0 lui signifie Syndrome Immunod\u00e9ficitaire Acquis. Le SIDA constitue donc le stade final de l\u2019infection \u00e0 VIH au cours duquel, la personne infect\u00e9e pr\u00e9sente des affections opportunistes, un bilan biologique perturb\u00e9, un nombre de virus \u00e9lev\u00e9 dans le sang et une immunod\u00e9pression s\u00e9v\u00e8re. La sant\u00e9 militaire dans la lutte contre cette pand\u00e9mie, s\u2019est dot\u00e9 d\u2019un point focal VIH \u00e0 la Direction de Sant\u00e9 Militaire, preuve s\u2019il en \u00e9tait encore besoin que le haut commandement reste donc engag\u00e9 dans l\u2019\u00e9ducation et la pr\u00e9vention contre cette pand\u00e9mie dont l\u2019impact potentiel sur la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et le d\u00e9veloppement reste ind\u00e9niable.<\/p>\n

    La communication pour ce mois d\u00e9di\u00e9 au SIDA reste donc importante, \u00e0 l\u2019effet de sensibiliser sur les comportements stigmatisant, car le VIH n\u2019est pas contagieux par le contact humain de tous les jours. Les modes de transmission possibles sont notamment\u00a0: la voie sexuelle par des rapports non prot\u00e9g\u00e9s avec une personne infect\u00e9e, la voie sanguine par des objets souill\u00e9s ou par transfusion de sang infect\u00e9 et de la m\u00e8re \u00e0 l\u2019enfant. Un autre volet communicationnel de cette initiative en ce mois du VIH est de faire comprendre aux personnels des forces de d\u00e9fense et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 infect\u00e9s, qu\u2019ils peuvent atteindre les objectifs de leur vie et mener une existence normale. Il s\u2019agit donc pour ce faire de vivre positivement avec le VIH. Il est question de vivre de fa\u00e7on responsable bien qu\u2019\u00e9tant infect\u00e9. Ceci passe par une alimentation \u00e9quilibr\u00e9e, une pratique permanente du sport, lutter contre le stress, entretenir des relations sexuelles \u00e0 moindre risque, un suivi m\u00e9dical \u00e0 travers la prise des antir\u00e9troviraux qui diminuent la quantit\u00e9 de virus dans l\u2019organisme.<\/p>\n

    Au demeurant, de tout ce qui pr\u00e9c\u00e8de, force est de constater que la lutte contre le VIH\/SIDA dans les arm\u00e9es est une r\u00e9alit\u00e9. La sant\u00e9 militaire est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9e dans toutes les r\u00e9unions de l\u2019organisation de plans de d\u00e9veloppement sanitaire du Minist\u00e8re de Sant\u00e9 Publique \u00e0 l\u2019instar de celles ayant trait \u00e0 la lutte contre le VIH\/SIDA et notamment, aux actions \u00e0 mener en pr\u00e9lude \u00e0 la journ\u00e9e mondiale du SIDA le 01er<\/sup> d\u00e9cembre.
