The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph alongside his close collaborators on Thursday October 19, 2023 was on a working visit at Ekoum-abang.
in the locality of Awae, at the site that will host the new Combined Services Military Academy EMIA in the nearest future.

The project comprising of 46 buildings spread on a surface area of 45 hectares will be constructed by the Military Engineering Corps under the supervision of Colonel Kamgain Jackson, Director of the Corps.

The massive turn out of people of all works of life who gathered at the ceremonial ground to give pump and colour to the ceremony shows the readiness and enthusiasm of the population of Awae and it’s environs to welcome this new development project.

Speaking during the ceremony the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph started by thanking the people of Ekoumabang and Awae in general for their kind words, hospitality and massive presence, which demonstrates a high sense of patriotism and love for the fatherland. He went ahead to promise them that they will not regret this gesture for it is going to catapult development in their area.

Speaking earlier, the Mayor of Awae, André Rémi AKONO ALINGA who after welcoming the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence and the delegation that accompanied him, used the opportunity to thank the high command for haven chosen his constituency for this huge project besides the already existing ones like the International School for Security Forces (EIFORCES) Campus at Awae and many others in gestation. While calling on the inhabitants of the 46 villages under his jurisdiction to continue to be hard working and hospitable to benefit more of such projects.

Still in the same vein, the traditional head of Messomo, consisting of 7 villages, on his part thanked the in fatigable community builder and beggar of peace, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Paul Biya whose authority comes from God almighty, for choosing his village to host the most prestigious Military Academy not just in the country but in the Sub Saharan Africa. Like Tom Sawyer asked for more as he pleaded on behalf of his villagers that the Beti Assomo Joseph as usual should transmit their plead to the head of State concerning the state of roads in Messomo.
