All is set for a glorious, memorable 52nd national unity day
From the 101 Air Force Base where the troops have been rehearsing for close to a month, they have moved to the May 20 Boulevard and are fine tuning their matching steps and getting acquainted with the terrain prior to the D-day come May 20.

The 17th of May was dedicated to the general rehearsal of all the actors taking part in the celebration.

From the sweet melody of the merry go round performed by the Police Music Band, to the vigour and rigour in which the officials are seeing into the rectification of the different errors of the foot and motorised troops one can say from the foretaste, this 52nd edition of the National Unity Day will be wonderful, in fact it is worth watching.

As usual the military parade is divided into three components that is the March-past by foot soldiers, mounted and motorized troops as well as the Fly-past. The military parade will last for 45 minutes and shall begin and end with a fly-past of the aircrafts of the Air Forces and the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR).

This year’s parade will be commanded by Brigadier General Melingui Nouma Donatien, the Inspector of Forces at the Defence Headquarters and will be assisted by Colonel Saidou Abba Commander of the West Gendarmerie Legion.

After the passage of the commanders will be followed by the Music Band of the Presidential Guard and the visiting detachment of the Equatorial-Guinean Forces, Commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Roberto Obama Mituy.

Immediately after the foot march past will come the mounted and motorised march past comprising of four groups, each marching to the rhythm of the different music bands present.
