Among the many athletes present were the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, Mr Kamsouloum Saïd, and a number of civil and military authorities from the Ministry of Defence.
At 06:00, the runners set off on a 14.4km course, followed by the start of the walkers’ circuit. The finish line for all categories was at the Headquarters Brigade.
As in previous years, athletes from the Armed Forces, National Security, Customs, Forest Guards, Prison Service and public companies such as the Port Autonome de Douala, Source Tangui and CNPS took part in this year’s Cross MINDEF.
Master Corporal MBORO Bella Danielle and 1st Class Oumarou MOHAMADOU took first place respectively in the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s under-35 categories.
The awards were presented to the winners of the four categories by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Mr Beti Assomo Joseph, on the fringes of his visit to the Defence and Security Open Days on the same day at Yaoundé Air Base 101.
