after undergoing a three month training at the peacekeeping training school, EFOMP andthe Refresher Centre for the Technic in law Enforcement, CPTMO.
This remark was made by the head of the inspection and control mission of predeployment training, Professor Didier Olinga, Technical Adviser in the Ministry of Defence, representative of the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph.
The delegation made its first stop over at the Peacekeeping Training School EFOMP in Motcheboum, Upper Nyong Division of the East Region on June 25, 2024. The delegation was received on hand by the Commander of the School, Colonel Clement Garansou who presented the institution created following a Presidential decree on September 4, 2023. According to the road map, the Commander recapped that the institution has as vocation to train soldiers in and out of the Cameroon in peacekeeping combat technics and tactics.
Professor Didier Olinga and his teams were taken on a guided tour at the peacekeeping village of the institution wherein simulation exercises were executed amongst which check point controls, cordon and search operations, protection of high personalities, protection of the population and their property.
On June 26, 2024, the inspection and control mission concluded their assignment at the Refresher Centre for the Technic in law enforcement CPTMO at Awae in the Mefou and Afamba Division of the Centre Region. It was a similar exercise at Moblo ville wherein Gendarmes performed the different exercises that falls in line with the dictates of the United Nations Charter on peacekeeping. The gendarmes are as well ready to wave the flag of Cameroon as formed police units.
At the end of the different simulation exercises, Professor Didier Olinga much-admired the brilliant performance of the battalion while at the same time urging them to stay focus, professional and above all discipline which is the principal arm of the Cameroon Defence Forces. The Technical Adviser in the Ministry of Defence extends to the troop courage and determination from the high command as they await the certification procedure of the contingent by a team of experts from the Cameroon Defence Headquarters under the supervision of the military bureau of the United Nations that will be conducted from the 1st to the 14th of July 2024.
The 11th contingent of the Cameroon battalion to be deployed in some days ahead to the Central African Republic under the command of Lieutenant-Colonel Kenne Tchinda are apt for the job that awaits them in supporting the transition process, facilitating humanitarian assistance, promotion and protection of rights, support for justice and the rule of law and disarmament, reintegration and repatriation processes.
