The sun beats on the Regional Capital of the Adamawa Region as the National Committee for the Recruitment of 1800 Commandos commence recruitment operations on Monday, July 28, 2025. A sea of hopeful faces gathered at the entrance of the Command Post of the 5th Rapid Intervention Battalion Camp, each one eager to take the first step towards a career in the military.

The recruitment committee’s arrival was met with a warm welcome, as onlookers lined the roads, showcasing the community’s support for the Defence Forces. This enthusiasm underscores the vital role the military plays in maintaining national security.

The recruitment process, set to run from July 29 to 31, 2025, began with a series of medical tests. Candidates are undergoing rigorous evaluations to determine their suitability for the demanding 20km race with a 20kg sand load.

Military doctors are scrutinizing each candidate’s fitness for service. The medical test results will be released later tomorrow, paving the way for the next stage of the recruitment process.
