An initiative of the American government in partnership with a number of European and African countries, this exercise, now in its thirteenth iteration, is an annual training rendezvous, set up through a series of naval exercises, carried out by the War Marines of the countries bordering the Gulf of Guinea, in order to deal with insecurity at sea.
The objectives of OE24 are to:
– Test the response capabilities of the national system in the face of a given maritime threat;
– Strengthen multi-sectoral cooperation in the maritime field;
– Assess Cameroon’s level of integration into the Yaoundé Process.
The ceremony ended with a family photo and a cocktail in the Naval Base circle, hosted by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency, in charge of Defence.
