FIGHT AGAINST ILLICIT TRAFFICKING: LCM LE MOUNGO FOLLOWS IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF CNS LA BENOUE
Five days after CNS BENOUE, another Surface Forces vessel, the LCM LE MOUNGO, carried out the boarding of a canoe off the coast of Limbe on 10 January 2026.

Deployed as part of surveillance operations within the EEZ, the LCM LE MOUNGO boarded, on 10 January 2026 at 5:15 p.m., a canoe from a neighboring country, carrying approximately 56,000 liters of contraband fuel, and six crew members, all without identification.

The vessel was diverted to the Limbe shipyard quay and placed at the disposal of the Commander of the Limbe Naval Base for the usual procedures.
