“Fight against smuggling”
Acting within the remit of securing the Exclusive Economic Zone, the ‘CNS LE MOUNGO’ intercepted this Thursday 7 March 2024, a canoe coming from a neighbouring country with 5 crew members without identification papers and carrying various undeclared contraband goods, including 38 cartons of whisky, a large stock of medicines, 6 drums of unidentified chemicals, 1 bag of fertiliser and 13 bags of crayfish.

The culprits and their goods were placed at the disposal of the Commander of the Limbé Naval Base for due diligence with the competent authorities.

Through these repeated actions, the Cameroon Navy intends to significantly clean up Cameroon’s coastline, thereby actively contributing to the development of a sustainable blue economy.
