Rear-Admiral MENDOUA Jean, Chief of the Navy Staff, surrounded by his close collaborators, received in audience this Tuesday 03 September 2024 at the conference room of the Naval Staff, a delegation of the European Union led by Mr Philippe LAFOSSE, Head of the Political Section at the Embassy of the European Union in Cameroon.
Deployed to secure Cameroon’s Economic and Exclusive Zone, the CNS FIFINDA boarded a canoe from a neighbouring country off the coast on 30 August 2024 carrying 15,000 litres of smuggled fuel and a crew of eight people, all of whom had no identity papers.
On 21 August 2024, at the Douala Naval Base, MENDOUA Jean, Chief of Navy Staff, presided over the Ceremony to present the Cameroon Navy’s standard to 163 naval officers from the 2022 contingent.

Deployed in its area of responsibility for regalian missions, a maritime patrol from the Limbé Naval Base boarded, on 11 and 13 August 2024 respectively, 02 boats from a neighbouring country carrying a total of 37500 litres of smuggled fuel.
