They were presented with two electoral colleges, one for decision-makers (college I), and the other for civil servants and contract staff (college II). The seats to be filled were respectively five (05) and seven (07) with their substitutes.
Under the banner of democracy, a fairly active and dynamic election campaign enabled the candidates to present their profession of faith to the target electorate. The programmes presented by these candidates aim to provide adequate responses to certain professional concerns expressed by MINDEF civilian staff, in particular the improvement of the working environment and conditions as well as the management of their careers, which could find solutions through consultations with the Command.
At the end of the vote, the list led by Mr LASSA Paulin, Delegate of the outgoing team, obtained nearly 63.51% of the votes cast, with those led by Messrs ASSAKO Ulrich and NTYAME Simon then totalling 19.21% and 13.73% respectively. These results lead the latter candidates to share the seats according to the principle of proportional representation provided for by the texts in force.
As far as the decision-making Staff Representatives are concerned, only one list was in competition. As a result, Mrs TCHAKEUMENI Amélie’s list was approved by 90% of the votes cast.
