The Far North Region, bordered by Nigeria and Chad, remains a major security hotspot, with its porous borders, Sahelian terrain, cross-border movements and pressure on resources adding to the Boko Haram threat. It is against this backdrop that Maroua, on Tuesday, September 29, hosted a high-level security meeting to reassess the situation and strengthen the regional response.
