STRENGTHENING BILATERAL DEFENCE COOPERATION BETWEEN CAMEROON, EQUATORIAL GUINEA
On high Instructions of their Excellencies, President Paul Biya Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph, brain stormed with his counterpart, the Minister of National Defence of the Republic Equatorial Guinea, Victoriano Nsue Okomo on security synergy between the two countries.

This crucial meeting took place in Yaounde on Friday September 26 2025.

The conference hall of the Ministry of Defence played host to a high-level meeting aimed at strengthening cross-border security and security strategies at their shared border.

Both Nations, seekers of peace, through their different Delegations reviewed issues of common interest including the adoption of policies to address various security threats such as drug trafficking, transborder insecurity etc.

Minister Beti Assomo Joseph and his counterpart in the presence of their different delegations proceeded in the signing of a Joint communique wherein the two ministers evaluated security ties and came to a conscientious that, security assessment review meetings will be held at a date agreed upon by both Delegations.

The working visit of Minister Victoriano Nsue Okomo was concluded by a guided tour to the new Central Tailoring Workshop of the Armed Forces and the Gendarmerie inaugurated yesterday September 25, 2025 by Minister Beti Assomo Joseph.
