The ceremony that saw in attendance the Sub Divisional officer of Djoum, Mayor of Djoum, the Lieutenant Colonel, Commander of the 12th Motorised infantry Battalion, the President of the Court of First instance and the state counsel amongst others saw the outgoing commander, Lieutenant Colonel Chia Ernerst make way for the incoming, handing him the standards.

In a military handover ritual, ‘Prennez le Commandement’ pronounced by the Brigadier General, COMECIIA, Major Njang Taku Elvis COM CI Djoum took over and later proceeded with a troop review before the march past that saw the main Band of the Army, two platoons of the Army, one each of the Air Force, the Navy and the National Fire Fighters Corps march to the rhythm of the grand tambour to close the ceremony.

‘‘I want to thank God, I want to thank the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and equally the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence for this appointment.This appointment comes with its challenges, I want to assure my hierarchy that I will not fail them,” said the new Commander.

Before this 31st August Presidential appointment, the new Commander occupied the Post of Chief of Service at the Service of Protocol, Military Ceremonies and Public Relations at the Ministry of Defence.
