The wetting down dinner, rich in attendance and presided over by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph, accompanied by the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo, the Minister of Post and Telecommunications, Madame Minette Libom Li Nkeng and other members of government and the diplomatic corps brought together personnel of the Defence family led by the Major General Ebaka Hippolyte, Deputy Chief of Defence staff who came to show their solidarity with the COMBRIR

In a welcome word pronounced by the head of the celebrating Family and father to the newly Promoted, Mr Mezui Abraham, he thanked God for making a day that no one ever expected, then the President of the Republic and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces whom he qualified as a good master, and lastly the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of defence, whose filter he described to be being very selective.

‘The world is a mirror, if you smile at it, it will also smile at you, be good, and true to people. Before time is not time, after time is not time, time is time, now is time to work, now you are a General, do not wait to start working’ he added.

The Deputy chief of Defence Staff on demand of his hierarchy said the wetting down ceremony is likened to the watering of a plant with the intention of having it grow, He said His General colleagues and himself in doing this ritual are praying for greater promotions in the years to come for the night’s celebrant.

The closing remark of MINDEF reiterated the congratulatory message of the President of the Republic and Commander-in Chief of the Armed Forces, Paul Biya. He enjoined Him to vigilance in the the task entrusted to Him by the High Command as Commander of the Rapid Intervention Brigade, a post he occupied since a Colonel before being appointed Brigadier General.
