Received at the esplanade of the Headquarters Brigade by Major General Phillipe Mpay, Commander of Joint Military Schools and Training Centers, Beti Assomo Joseph surrounded by government officials, heads of diplomatic missions, a cross section of the military high command and parents witnessed the EMIA cadet officers being called up to the centre of the esplanade in two sections from the two flanks where they were commanded to kneel to receive their epaulets.
In a ceremony marked by cheers and applauds from the watching population in and out of the tribune, Beti Assomo Joseph affixed the epaulets of the most outstanding officer (major) of this batch 2nd Lieutenant SIDDI MANNA aged 24 while the Secretaries of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie, Ex-servicemen and War Victims as well as the Defence Chief of Staff did same with the vice majors, third and fourth laureates. While the rest of the graduates received theirs from the college of generals and the other top-ranking officers assigned for the purpose.
The Commander of the Combined Services Military Academy, Colonel Nang Zengue Roger in giving the resume of the three years training program of the 295 officers beginning from the probationary year, then the first and second years expressed his satisfaction given the crowing of the efforts of the training staff and the assiduity of the new officers with the award of epaulets.
The traditional marchpast of the music band, four sections of the Combined services military Academy, a section each of the National Gendarmerie, the Army, the Air Force, the Navy and the National Fire Fighters Corps closed the event.
