On June 9, 2025, the august guest began by carrying out a tour of key Gendarmerie facilities such as, the campus of the International School for Security Forces (EIFORCES) at Awae, then the No1 Mobile Squadron Group in Yaounde where a makeshift stand of the Multipurpose Intervention Group of the National Gendarmerie (GPIGN) has been installed.

He later moved on to the Command of Schools and Training Centers of the Gendarmerie (CECIG) where he made a stop-over at the Center for Perfection of Judiciary Police (CPPJ). Day one of his visit concluded with an audience granted to him by the Secretary for State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie, Galax Etoga Yves Landry.

Bilateral cooperation between the French Gendarmerie and the Cameroon National Gendarmerie in the domain of training and logistics were tabled.

Prior to his departure for his homeland, the French Gendarmerie boss, General Hubert Bonneau met with the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph on June 10, 2025 at the conference hall of the Ministry of Defence. The in-camera audience among other vital issues dwelled on the existing military cooperation between Paris and Yaounde as both countries maintain a long-standing cooperation, which focuses on security, defense training and strategic partnerships.
