The religious service, was celebrated by His Lordship Bishop Bayemi Matjei Sosthene, the Bishop of Obala Diocese. The servant of God drew his inspiration from the book of Genesis 22:15-18 and Romans 8: 31-34 saying, the objective of God to all his children is to draw them to him. Therefore, we are here to call on the almighty to be the Alpha and Omega of this training, that his will and only his will should prevail. As we call on the holy spirit to guide the recruits to be transformed by the trainers during their training to become discipline, selfless and patriotic soldiers who will serve Cameroon with honour, loyalty and abnegation without discrimination or cultural bias.
After the sermon, the recruits and their trainers received declarations of blessing pronounced by the Arch Bishop of Obala, besieging the 2024 contingents to call on God whenever they are going through trying times. For in God alone will they find peace and comfort, for he is our refuge and shield in times of trouble.
Following suit was the handing of food stuffs and a National Flag to each of the seven village heads present from the hand of the Senior Divisional Officer of Mbandjock.
From the faces of the villagers, one could literally read signs of not just satisfaction or appreciation but also acknowledgement for the gifts given to them by the Commander of the Presidential Guard, Colonel Beko’o Abondo Jean Charles. Through this civil military action carried out by the Commander of the Presidential Guard to the population of Obala the Army and the Nation bond was once more solidified.
Present to grace the occasion was the Senior Divisional Officer of Upper Sanaga Divisional Officer of Bandjock, the Mayor of Obala, traditional leaders, friends and the population of Obala to ask God to bless the training of these recruits.
