African military games: Cameroon aims for glory
A powerful Cameroonian delegation led by the Assistant Director of the Directorate of Sports and Cultural Activities (DSACA), Colonel MBOM YEK EDWIGE is proudly participating in the second edition of the African Military Games taking place in Abuja, Nigeria from November 18 to 30, 2024.

The delegation made up of 53 members arrived Abuja about early this afternoon and are familiarizing themselves with the climatic condition of the area. Abuja is one of the most modern cities in Africa. Located in the geographical heart of Nigeria, it is a truly cosmopolitan city with a little of every part of Nigeria in its make-up. It is a tourist delight for visitors who enjoy the outdoors at night. The city is safe and its night life is awesome.

Thanks to the non-disparity of the climatic condition of Abuja to that of Yaounde, the Cameroonian delegation hope to be counted amongst the few active participants in the different disciplines they will be competing in. The country is ready thanks to its strong Football, Basketball, and Taekwondo teams, comprising of talented military athletes who will compete in the afore mentioned sports disciplines. The second edition of the African Military Games is a significant event for Cameroon and the African continent. With its rich history of military sports, Cameroon is poised to make a lasting impact during the game as 25 countries plus Nigeria, are expected to be competing in 19 sporting events.
