Bilateral Bonds: Cameroon decorates French soldiers for Defence Cooperation
On High Instructions of the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Paul Biya, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph exceptionally decorated some French soldiers on Thursday June 19, 2025 at the Hall of Acts in the Ministry of Defence.

Pleased with the work carried out during their stay in Cameroon, the Technical Adviser to the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Colonel Solignac Jean was decorated with the medal of Knight of the Cameroonian Order of Valour. While Colonel Tavel Sylvain, Lieutenant-Colonel Blondeet Thierry, Lieutenant-Colonel Massot Christophe, Lieutenant-Colonel Coste Fréderic, Major Senior Warrant Officer Chaigneau Jean-Philippe and 2nd Class Administrator of Maritime Affairs Royer Sébastien were exceptionally awarded the medal of Knights of the Cameroonian Order of Merit.

These French military officers dedicated several years to enhancing military cooperation between the two countries, focusing on training Cameroonian forces and conducting joint military exercises. Their efforts significantly improved the skills and operational capabilities of the Cameroonian forces.

During the ceremony, Minister Beti Assomo Joseph praised the French soldiers for their expertise, sense of duty, and spirit of camaraderie. He emphasized that the ceremony was a moment of friendship and reaffirmation of the strong ties between Cameroon and France in defence.
