The 5 month plus intensive training, which kicked off on July 21, 2025, aimed to equip officers with cutting-edge tactical skills for joint and international operations. The 30th batch was made up of 42 trainees drawn from 10 countries, that is Gabon, Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte D’Ivoire, Chad, Mali, Niger, Central African Republic, Guinea Conakry and Cameroon, marking a significant milestone in regional military cooperation.

The highlight was a multinational tactical exercise that tested their mettle in real-world scenarios. The innovation during this 30th Senior Command and Staff Course at the Staff College was marked by the introduction of cybersecurity, addressing current threats, including those in spaces and on social networks. International human rights law was also introduced, expanding the field of armed conflict law. An emphasis was placed on the English language, in accordance with the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, to anchor bilingualism in all aspects of society.

The class of 2025 boasted an average score of 12.43/20, with Air Force’s Mougnol Jacques emerging top gun with an average score of 14.16. The training was provided with the support of the school’s management, instructors, as well as university dons and military lecturers. A particularity of the course was the participation of an officer from the Malian security forces for the first time.

Speaking during the farewell ceremony, the Commandant of the Command and Staff College, Colonel Samnick Hervé, said the difficulties encountered during the course are linked to the context, but the work of the trainers and the means put in place helped improve things. He urged the trainees to showcase their skills, saying « the diploma is just a piece of paper; it’s your daily work that will prove your skills » and concluded by wishing good luck for the future and happy end-of-year holidays to all.
