The ceremony that was held at the esplanade of the Motcheboum Peacekeeping Operations Training School (EFOMP) in the East Region was marked by the handing of the flag to the Commander of the Cameroon Battalion, Lt Col Kenne Tchinda Martial Valère who gave a positive appraisal of the state of mind of his collaborators whom he said are expected to bring back positive feedback by adhering to the exigences of the mission.
Speaking to the deployed soldiers, Beti Assomo Joseph enjoined them to banish all forms of dishonour, favoritism, sexual exploitation and abuse and all deviant acts as he cautioned them of the heavy arm of the law on defaulters in proportion to the fault committed. He called on a zero tolerance in the host country during their mission, encouraged professionalism, unity, devotedness to the mission in other to better foster the already positive image Cameroon has abroad.
He also made a call on the professional use of the mission equipment whose state after the mission will determine the financial reimbursement to the government of Cameroon by the United Nations.
Exceptionally for the 2024 deployment, the main partner of this International Peace Keeping Mission to MINUSCA, the United Nations, authorized the training of the selected 750 personnel of the Infantry battalion and 322 gendarmes by UN Accredited Cameroon trainers within a period of three months with their certification in July.
