The graduation ceremony was presided over by the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie, Etoga Galax Yves Landry representing the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence at the auditorium of the institution. The graduates were made up of fifty-three trainees that is thirty-five from Cameroon and 18 from friendly countries. Each laureates received their diploma dressed in their different military parade outfits. The diploma received also symbolises their commitment, discipline, professionalism and dedication.
In this year’s 29th Staff and Command Diploma (DEM) graduation, Captain Badai Dringa Noé emerged the overall best with a total of 14.27/20 while the last graduate came out with a total of 10.96/20. During the training course, the participants were schooled on innovative national security strategies to effectively combat contemporary threats such as terrorism, cybercrime, maritime piracy and regional instability. The trainees also examined the significance of international collaboration, identifying opportunities for joint exercises and peacekeeping missions.
According to the Commander of the Staff and Command College, Colonel Abanda Bernard this diploma fosters professional development, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for leadership roles within the Defence Forces. He also added that this curriculum emphasizes adaptability to modern warfare, integrating contemporary tactics and technologies, while instilling a strong sense of civic responsibility and ethical conduct. He also reiterated that this cohort is considered the best graduation in the last eight years.
This day marks the beginning of a new chapter for the graduates who are ready to serve their countries with honour and integrity as the Command and Staff College does not only prepares individuals to serve their country but also contributes to global security.
