CONSTRUCTION WORKS AT THE EKOUM-ABANG SITE TO INHABIT THE PREMISES OF THE COMBINED SERVICES MILITARY ACADEMY, (EMIA) HAVE SEEN A STEADY PROGRESS, BARELY SIX MONTHS AFTER THE START OF THE PROJECT, PERMITTING THE 41st BATCH OF CADET OFFICERS OF THE PROBATIONARY YEAR TO GET TRAINED ON THE FIELD
In a visit by the Minister Delegate at the presidency in charge of Defence on September 24 2025, Beti Assomo Joseph, accompanied by close collaborators and the military hierarchy in assessing the progress of work on the second phase of the project left ‘more than satisfied’ after a guided tour on the site by the Director of the Military Engineering Corps, Colonel Nko’o Nko’o Jean Heribert.

Upon arrival at the site, the use of the ultramodern engines in carrying out earthworks, the fabricating of solid bricks, the mixing of concrete and the use of remote-controlled trucks in pouring of mixed concrete inspired confidence as the time for manual work could be seen drastically reduced by the state-of-the art equipment, a testament of structures to respond to the aspirations of the military High Command for future Cameroonian and foreign officers.

Beti Assomo Joseph used the occasion to announce to the elite and youths of Ekoum- Abang, the launching of the competitive entrance examinations into EMIA, expressing his wish to have youths of the locality get admitted into the prestigious academy provided they train hard to deserve a place in the very selective school.

The inspection mission was an occasion for the Commander of the Combined Services Military Academy, Colonel Nang Zengue Roger to present to the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence the over 300 cadet officers to soon complete their probationary year marked by the handing over of swords on September 25, 2025.

This second phase, at its completion, divided into two zones will see an exploited area of 5 hectares aimed at constructing surveillance and academic infrastructures including a hall, an Amphitheatre, playgrounds and accommodations for high-level instructors not residing in Yaounde. The Campus is planned to have among other structures training grounds consisting of high-risk military obstacles, a filling station, a pool, a 2km stretch for driving lessons and assembly grounds.
