Equatorial Guinea : Cameroon’s may 20 parade guest
The 52nd edition of the National Unity Day of Cameroon will be celebrated in pump and colour with the mixed company of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea being the special guest of honour of the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Paul Biya.

The visiting delegation composed of a mixed company of one hundred and eight elements arrived Cameroon on May 16, 2024 and have started rehearsing at the May 20 boulevard alongside the other troops.

The visiting delegation is headed by Major General Candido Nkogo Engono Nchama, the Vice Minister of Defence of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea accompanied by Colonel Juan Moises ANDA ELO, Defence Chief of Staff of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

The Equatorial Guinean detachment commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Roberto OBAMA MITUY of Customs, will be marching using two marching steps as they will begin with the normal marching steps and before attacking the presidential tribune, will change to the commando steps known in French as “pas bloqué’’

The Delegation is more than ready to put up a good display come May 20 as they have been rehearsing for the past month for the circumstance.

This special invitation is a sign that the bilateral relationship of these two brotherly nations is at its apogee and that they have mutually accepted to set aside their differences and henceforth decided to jointly combat their common enemies, who are poachers, pirates resurfacing in the Gulf of Guinea, and armed groups attacking and looting civilians in both countries.
