Garoua humanitarian campaign for free surgery and treatment: the High Command acknowledges this initiative
he campaign that benefited from the logistical and personnel support of the Ministry of Defence, was declared open on July 31 by the Governor of the North Region Jean Abate Edi’i at the Conference hall of the Garoua General hospital,

who representing the Minister Delegate at the presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph used the occasion to hail the ingenuity of Dr Jean Louis Benae in clamoring for support from specialist foreign and local doctors to provide a rare commodity to his brothers and sisters, that of health.

He used the occasion to appreciate the efforts of the battery of doctors that answered present to the call of distress in favour of the population of Garoua, who with complicated health challenges would have had to spend very huge amounts of money or being obliged to travel out for expensive medical evacuation.

‘Brain Project Africa’ Dr Benae said, ‘is in its third mission in Cameroon but the first in Garoua. It has as objective to ameliorate health conditions in sub–Saharan Africa with three principles guiding us.

First to establish an intellectual exchange with our colleagues here in the country, the second to extend a heart of compassion to the population through the art of medicine and lastly to support hospitals through material donations’.

This campaign, having been launched continues through August 3 in Garoua. The team is expected in Yaounde after this mission where they will meet with the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence Beti Assomo Joseph to present a balance sheet.
