GUADIANS OF EXCELLENCE: PRESIDENTIAL GUARD CLINCHES 12TH COLONEL AVI SIVAN ABRAHAM CUP
The Presidential Guard's Commander, Colonel Beko'o Abondo Raymond Jean Charles, presided over the closing ceremony of the 12th edition of the Colonel Avi Sivan Abraham Cup on December 19, 2025, at the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Obili.

This spectacular event brought together sports enthusiasts and icons like Ambassador Albert Roger Milla, Jeremy Sorel Njitap, and Enow Ngachou, showcasing the perfect blend of sports, camaraderie, and national pride.

The week-long tournament (Dec 10-19, 2025) featured athletes from the Presidential Guard competing in thrilling matches of football, 100m, 800m, 1000m and commando marathon resistance races, tug of war, and more. These activities fostered cohesion, fighting spirit and fraternity among soldiers, highlighting the core values of the elite corps. The football senior team match kicked off with a bang, ending 2-1 in favor Hackers against Warriors, followed by electrifying karate and Krav maga performances that left the crowd in awe.

A second junior team football match saw a trio of dignitaries – Colonel Beko’o Abondo Raymond Jean Charles, Albert Roger Milla, and Jeremy Sorel Njitap – give the ceremonial kickoff. The match ended 2-2, with AMIS emerging victorious 5-3 on penalties against 2nd Intervention Group of the Presidential Guard.

The glittering ceremony honored participants with 83 trophies and 1113 medals across 40 disciplines, recognizing outstanding performances. In a touching gesture, Albert Roger Milla gifted Colonel Beko’o Abondo Raymond Jean Charles a symbol of fair play, underscoring the true spirit of sportsmanship. These shared moments, as the Commander of the Presidential Guard noted, remind us of sports’ pivotal role in galvanizing troops and boosting morale.

The 12th Colonel Avi Sivan Abraham Cup will be remembered for its electrifying energy, camaraderie, and the unwavering commitment of the Presidential Guard to excellence.
