On hand to welcome the Commander of the 3rd Joint Military Region was the Commander of the 3rd Military Sector, Colonel Bindjeme Anglade Bobet amidst military authorities and a cross section of military and civilian personnel of the Garoua garrison.
The different sports delegation comprising of the National Gendarmerie, the Army, the Airforce, the Fire Fighters Corps, the Delegation for National Security, the Penitentiary Administration and the Customs Department march past the grand stand brandishing placards bearing messages of fair play, cohesion and fraternity.
The opening of the championship opposed the National Gendarmerie and the 301-Air Force Base in football, the Delegation for National Security locked horns with the National Gendarmerie in the female football category. While the 4th Rapid Intervention Battalion tussled with the 31st Military Engineering Regiment.
The gala match pitting that National Gendarmerie and the 301-Air Force Base drew the attention of the spectators with beautiful spectacles. At the end of regular play time, the 301-Air Force Base over powered the pandores by 3 goals to 2.
Speaking to the press, Colonel Bindjeme Anglade Bobet, Commander of the 3rd Military Sector who doubles as the president of the organizing committee said, the objective of the tournament is geared at reinforcing cohesion and fraternity amongst the different components of the Defence and Security Forces which is an essential tool in carrying out missions successfully for the protection of persons and their property and above all the territorial integrity of the nation.
To grace the event were beautiful melodies from the music band of the 301-Air Force Base accompanied by a remarkable show put up by military artist Corporal Mba Thomas. The tournament is expected to run till the 10th of May 2024.
