METROPOLITAN ARCHBISHOP OF YAOUNDE LEADS CONSECRATION CEREMONY AT THE HEADQUARTER’S BRIGADE
On the occasion of the jubilee of the Armed Forces, Police and Security Services and on high instructions of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Paul Biya, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Yaounde, His Lordship, Jean Mbarga proceeded to the consecration of the Saint Joseph’s Chapel located at the Headquarter’s Brigade on Friday, August 1, 2025.

The dedication of the holy temple was attended by Brigadier General Tchemo Hector, representative of the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, top military and civilian authorities, hundreds of personnel of the Defence and Security Forces as well as faithfuls from the parish and beyond. The Archbishop who is equally the National Chaplain, together with military chaplain, Jacques Dieudonne Ndjouga Bakwo conducted a Holy Mass during which they delivered heartfelt messages emphasizing on faith, community and service without any distinction. While insisting on the upholding of the teachings of the Holy book.

Among the verses of the bible sighted, allusion was made to the book of Matthew chapter 18:20 which says « For where two or three gather in my name, there am I among them. » this clearly showcases that, religious ceremony marks a milestone in the faith community and equally serves as a booster to the Armed Forces and Police chaplaincy.

The confirmation ritual of some parishioners was an occasion for them to express their joy and gratitude for the consecration which they believe will strengthen their spiritual bond and foster a sense of community.
