THE COMMANDER OF THE NATIONAL FIREFIGHTERS CORPS, MAJOR GENERAL MAHAMAT AHMED KOTOKO CHAIRED AN IMPORTANT COMMAND MEETING FROM THE 24TH TO THE 26TH OF SEPTEMBER 2025 AT THE COMMAND POST OF THE NATIONAL FIREFIGHTERS CORPS IN WARDA, YAOUNDE.
This quarterly meeting gave room to take stock of the Corp’s activities and prepare for upcoming challenges, particularly in the context of the Presidential election scheduled for October 12, 2025.

The meeting brought together staff officers and territorial commanders who reviewed the operational record of the institution in the course of the year. In this vein, focus centered on ways to curb catastrophes of all kind geared at protecting persons and property.

Conscious of the importance of the upcoming Presidential election, Major General Mahamat Ahmed gave firm instructions to the staff officers and territorial commanders to strengthen security protocols across barracks of the National Firefighters Corps and intervention procedures. He also recommended them to rigorously monitor and supervise the actions of the troops, with the aim of swiftly addressing any deviant behaviour that may jeopardize the smooth functioning of the service.

The Major General emphasized on the perfect collaboration with other corps of the defence and security forces likewise administrative, religious and traditional authorities for the good of the service.

The Commander of the firefighter’s corps didn’t go by without mentioning the up-to-date logistic support by the High Command to the different National Firefighters’ territorial commands in order to meet up with their regalian missions in order to respond with efficiency to distress calls.

It should be recalled that, 118 is the toll-free number of the National Fire Fighter’s Corps in the fight against fire outbreaks, protection of persons and their property, participate in disaster prevention and management, and combat disasters and their aftermath. Reasons why Major General Mahamat Ahmed Kotoko called on the participants during the meeting to sensitize the public, implement preventive actions, issuing fire safety notices, providing first aid training and support, and conducting fire drills.
