This ceremony is an age-old EMIA tradition that marks the entry of cadet officers into the very exclusive community of officers. The sword presented to cadet officers by Major General Philip Mpay followed by their seniors of the school is the distinctive sign of officers, a symbol of nobility, bravery and honour.

The solemn sword presentation ceremony of the cadet officers marks the end of their probationary training. The probationary training consists of Common Basic and Group Leader training carried out in Tchabbal, Mindif and Ekoum-Abang.

Colonel Nang Zengue Roger, Commander of EMIA at the end of the ceremony highlighted the significance of this ceremony, underscoring the dedication and commitment of the cadet officers to serving the nation. As the cadet officers received their swords, they embarked on a new chapter in their military careers, armed with the values of leadership, discipline, and service.
