MILITARY HONOURS RENDERED TO LATE MAJOR GENERAL PHILLIPE MPAY
A funeral ceremony to pay last military honors to late Major General Phillipe Mpay was presided over by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph at the ceremonial ground of the Headquater’s brigade on July 31, 2026.

Held in the presence of senior military officers, government officials, traditional and religious authorities, family members and mourners, the ceremony entailed the positioning of the casket draped in the national colors, the reading of the funeral eulogy by Major General Ebaka Hyppolite, Logistical Adviser to the Minister of Defence, the post humous award of the Medal of the Military Cross of Valor by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence and the sounding of the last post marking the nation’s final tribute to the deceased officer.

Late Major General Phillipe Mpay who passed away on May 9, 2026 at the age of 87 devoted more than six decades to the service of the nation. He was a professional, courageous and dedicated officer who throughout his illustrious career held several strategic command posts.

 

Being an exemplary leader, his unwavering commitment to the remarkable service rendered to the nation will remain an inspiration to present and future generations of the Cameroon Defence Forces.

 

 

The mortal remains of the deceased will be taken to his natal village in Song-Libot, Messondo subdivision in the Nyong and Kelle division of the Centre region where he will be laid to rest on August 1, 2026.
