FROM FIELD COMMAND TO STRATEGIC-SUPPORT : BRIGADIER GENERAL AGHA ROBINSON NDONG IS THE NEW LOGISTICS ADVISER TO THE MINISTER OF DEFENCE
The positioning of the Cameroon flag, followed by the singing of the national anthem and the reading of the appointment decree, marked the opening of the installation ceremony of Brigadier General Agha Robinson Ndong as Logistics Adviser of the Minister of Defence.

The proceedings continued with the speech of the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph, officially marking the beginning of the General’s new responsibilities.

The ceremony, which took place at the Hall of Acts of the Ministry of Defence on October 8, 2026, brought together the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of Ex-Servicemen and War Victims, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Defence, senior military officials, defence personnel and invited guests.

Appointed by Presidential Decree of August 3, 2026, Brigadier General Agha Robinson Ndong now assumes a strategic position within the Ministry of Defence. As Logistics Adviser, he is expected to contribute to logistics planning and coordination, as well as the efficient management of resources in support of the operational readiness of the Defence Forces so as to address the increasingly and constantly evolving security challenges which stem from multifaceted and asymetric threats facing the country.

 

The appointment reflects the confidence placed by the High Command in the General’s professional experience, operational expertise and leadership capabilities, hence he is expected to stategize and contribute to the modernization of logistics systems and the strengthening of support mechanisms essential to the successful execution of defence missions.

Brigadier General Agha Robinson Ndong who was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in 2017 brings to this position extensive experience acquired through years of command and operational responsibilities within the Cameroon Defence Forces. He notably commanded the 22nd Motorized Infantry Brigade in Bamenda, where he was involved in maintaining security and operational readiness.

Following the creation of the 5th Joint Military Region in 2018, he became its pioneer commander, overseeing military operations in the North-West Region. His subsequent appointments included Commander of the 3rd Joint Military Region in Garoua and later Commander of the 4th Joint Military Region headquartered in Maroua.

His career in field command has therefore provided him with extensive knowledge of the operational requirements of the Defence Forces, particularly the importance of an effective logistics chain in sustaining military missions.

By assuming his new responsibilities, Brigadier General Agha Robinson Ndong moves from years of territorial and operational command into a strategic support role, where his experience is expected to help strengthen the logistical capacity and overall operational efficiency of Cameroon’s Defence Forces.
