The installation ritual kick started with the handing over of the standard to the new commander, a symbol of authority to lead the troops stationed in all the units of the 3rd joint Military region. The commissioning into function of the Commander of the 3rd Joint Military Region, Rear Admiral Ade Nkwenti Hilary who takes over from Brigadier General Nouma Joseph. A minute of silence was observed for fallen comrades and the civilian population who shed their blood and lost their lives for the nation in these regions.

While installing Rear Admiral Ade Nkwenti Hilary in his capacities at the command post in Garoua, Minister Beti Assomo Joseph enjoined him to continue where his predecessor ended by curbing all forms of insecurity faced in his area of competence which stretches from the North to the Adamawa Regions. To this, he urged him to protect the population and their property as they are exposed to highway banditry, kidnapping for ransom, cattle theft, transborder criminality and a myraid of others that jeopardizes the peace of these regions.

Present at this ceremony were top military officials, state representatives, traditional and religious authorities, familly members and the population of Garoua who came out in their numbers to welcome the new commander of the 3rd Joint Military region.

The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Defence as well called on the Commander to collaborate with administrative, traditional and religeous authorities, not forgetting the population for the execution of the duty conferred to them by the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. It is worth mentioning that Rear Admiral Ade Nkenty Hillary has a rich curriculum vitæ which is not only filled with military certificates but esually embodies enough experiences which makes him fit for this new post.

Rear Admiral Ade Nkwenti Hilary once served in the capacities as Commander of the 7th military sector, Commander of Limbe Naval Base, Commander of Navy rifleman and Combat divers Forces amongs others, equally as Deputy Navy Chief of Staff the post he held before his recent appointement as the the commander of the 3rd joint Military region.
