The solemn event kick-started with a welcome address by the Chinese Defence AttachΓ© to Cameroon, Senior Colonel Lu Jipeng who lauded the bilateral military cooperation between Cameroon and China which date for decades. He recapped the commitment of the two Heads of State in fostering bilateral military cooperation which cuts across security, political, economic and cultural spheres.
Senior Colonel Lu Jipeng added that, the Chinese Peopleβs Liberation Army over the past 97 years of its existence has achieved significant successes under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and with the support of the Chinese people. He noted that the Army continues to deepen reforms in the field of defence, striving to create a comprehensively modernize world-class army.
To this effect the Chinese Defence AttachΓ© express the commitment of China in promoting peace in Cameroon and beyond like wise working in synergy with the Cameroon Defence forces in areas of peacekeeping and the fight against all forms of threats especially maritime piracy, terrorism, high way banditry, the list is inexhaustive.
Senior Colonel Lu Jipeng seized the solemn event to announce the arrival of the Chinese Peace Ark Hospital Ship which will sojourn in the economic capital of Cameroon Douala from the 7th to the 14th of October 2024. He said this humanitarian mission which falls inline with the bilateral military cooperation between Cameroon and China is geared at ameliorating the health condition of Cameroonians free of charge.
