2023 Presidential Guard sports season culminates in a grandiose way.
The 2023 sporting season of the Presidential Guard, which kick started in the month of February draws its curtain on Friday December 15, 2023 at, the Multipurpose Sports Complex of the Presidential Guard in Obili with the finals of the 10th edition of the Colonel Avis Sivan Abraham Cup, chaired by the Commander of the Presidential Guard, Colonel Beko’o Abondo Raymond Jean Charles.

The 10th edition of the Colonel Avi Sivan Abraham cup finals consisted of various collective and individual sporting activities such as volleyball, handball, football, athleticism, bodybuilding challenge, songho’o, Ludo, scrabble just to name but these few.

After the music carossel performed by the Music band of the Presidential Guard, the activities began with the senior football finals between Astonia FC and Delta FC. At the end of the encounter, Astonia FC carried the day as they trashed Delta FC 3-1. While in the junior football finals, it was a clashed of the titans with the Support and Reconnaissance Group (GRA) dominating the First Special Intervention Group (GSI) by 2-1.

It should be noted that each half time of the game was spiced by different races such as the 400m freestyle, 200 and 800 commando race with load as well as a 1500 freestyle race.

After, the different activities carried out, the awards of the 10th edition of the Colonel Avi Sivan Abraham cup finals were handed to the different winners by the civil and military authorities present, alongside some renowned personalities like Roger Mila, Francis Ngannou and Francoise Mbango who came out to grace the ceremony.

The aim of this event was achieved as it had as objective to promote physical sporting, fitness, teamwork and camaraderie among the members of the different units or within the presidential guard.
