The three-man delegation was headed by the Commander of the Paris Fire Brigade, Major General Joseph Dupre La Tour who was for the occasion accompanied by Lieutenant Colonels Xavier Guesdon and Thierry Verdet, Chief of cabinet and the Chief of the Organization and training Bureau respectively.
The main objective of the three-day working visit is that, beyond the principle of an exchange of good practices, it is to explore ways and means for the resumption of cooperation between the National Firefighters Corps and the Paris Fire Brigade which has been on a hold since the year 2008.
The delegation of the Paris Fire Brigade which was accompanied by the defence attaché at the French Embassy in Cameroon, Colonel Frederic Edel had a full agenda on February 2, 2024 as they had a working session with their hosts, after which they visited the primary school of “la Retraite” a stone throw away from the Warda Command Post where the visiting General was once a pupil in the 60’s.
This was followed by an audience granted them by the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, a visit of the infrastructure of the Command Post of the 10th group of Firefighters in Mimboman, a visit to the national museum and a cohesion diner culminated the day.
It should be recalled that, the Commander of the Firefighter’s Corps, Brigadier General Mahamat Ahmed equally headed a delegation which paid a two-day working visit to the Paris Fire Brigade from the 5th to the 6th of December 2022.
