Cameroon Defence Forces participate at COMMONWEALTH day.
The Cameroon Defence Forces for the first time was present in a grand style at the annual commemoration of the Commonwealth International Day from March 4 to 11, 2024 at the esplanade of the National Museum in Yaounde.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Felix Mbayu, Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Relations with the Commonwealth alongside a host of members of government, the diplomatic corps and personnel of the Defence Forces.

Host of members or government, the diplomatic corps and personnel of do the ceremony kick started with the hoisting of the Cameroon and Commonwealth flags by soldiers of the Headquarters Brigade at the court yard of the Ministry of External Relations. Following suit was a debate conference under the theme; the Year of the Youth in Cameroon: An Assessment of the political, Economic and Social Engagement of Youths in Nation Building.

The following days were dedicated to expositions of the know-how and expertise of the different participants at the National Museum. Here the Cameroon Defence Forces were represented by the departments of Military Cooperation, Human Resources, Communication Division and the Military Engineering Corps. These services are the different windows through which the Cameroon Defence Forces open up to the general public.

The presence of the Cameroon Defence Forces at the 75th edition of the annual Commonwealth Day was highly appreciated by the different caliber of visitors who stopped by the different stands of the Ministry of Defence to have a glue of who they are and their contributions in the smooth running of the Cameroon Defence mechanism. Once again, the objective of the military was attained, as this civil military action has gone a long way to solidify the Army and the Nation bond.
