In a double ceremony, marked by the graduation and award of decorations to outstanding candidates, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph, accompanied by close collaborators and diplomatic representatives of partner countries in presiding over this occasion sought to recognize merit demonstrated by the interns and trainers during the 11 months program at the war college, many of whom received Cameroon and French medal awards.

‘I want to extend our sustained appreciation to the friendly nations that have once again demonstrated their confidence in us by entrusting us with the training of their military officers thereby bearing witness to the interest their respective nations have in the Yaounde international War college and the Republic of Cameroon’, said Beti Assomo Joseph

The Commander of the ESIG, Brigadier General NKA VALERE hailed the efforts of the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed forces and the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence whose continues efforts to have the pioneer war college of the French and Sub-Saharan African sub regions maintain its prowess aim at modernizing the college so it continues to be an attraction hub for the training of military officers across the globe.

The Commander of the college beseeched outgoing officers to be worthy of the 2nd degree diploma that they received at the end of their training, calling on them to portray actions that reflects the image of the ESIG.

Over the past 21 years, the Yaounde International War College has trained a total of 959 officers including 242 Cameroonians, most of whom now serve at the highest levels of our defence forces. Other international officers for the past two decades hail from Africa, Europe, Asia and the Americas.
