Representing the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Paul Biya, the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph, presided over the solemn ceremony attended by members of Government, the Diplomatic Corps, administrative, religious and traditional authorities, as well as a large gathering of the military family.

In a final mark of national gratitude, the Head of State posthumously awarded the late General the Cameroon Military Cross of Valour of the Order of the Nation.

The presidential condolence message read by the Divisional Officer of Nyons and Kelle Division hailed him as a disciplined, courageous and profoundly loyal General Officer whose distinguished career strengthened the institutions of the Republic and left an enduring example of honour, loyalty and selfless service.

Heartfelt tributes from his family, village elites, the Mbom Mbocks and his son, Colonel Mpay, portrayed a man remembered not only for his military achievements but also for his humility, simplicity and unwavering commitment to unity.

Preaching from Psalm 103, Reverend Ateba reminded mourners that true greatness is measured by the legacy one leaves behind, integrity, humility and service to others.

As the final bugle pierced the silence of Song-Libot, Cameroon paid tribute to a patriot, a leader and a distinguished officer whose legacy will continue to inspire generations of the Cameroon Defence Forces. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
