The hall of national arrival at the Yaounde Nsimalen airport was transformed to a chapel as it was filled with members of government, military and civilian authorities, family members as well as friends of the Vice Amiral to see for themselves what since some few weeks seem to be rumour.
After the brief church service carried out by the college of priests of God present at the national arrival hall of the Nsimalen airport, exalting all those presents to give God a pride of place while alive on earth, since no one knows the time nor the hour the cold hands of death will knock on their doors. The sealed casket of the late Vice Amiral was escorted to the General Hospital mortuary pending official state burial.
Vice Amiral N’gouah N’gally Guillaume who has gone to be with his fathers was born on September 7, 1939 in Bikui Lolodorf, in the Ocean Division, in the South Region where he completed his primary education then moved to lycée General Leclerc where he continued with his higher education. At a very tender age his path to greatness was paved from the French Naval Academy in Brest from 1961 to 1963 and earning him his paratooper certification in 1962. He further enhanced his skills at the French Gendarmerie Officers’ School in Melun in 1968-1972 and the Joint Higher War College in Paris from 1986 to 1988.
Thanks to his dedication and exceptional leadership qualities Vice Amiral ascend to the prestigious position of Chief of Staff of the National Navy in 1980, a role he would hold for over three decades. Under his visionary guidance, the National Navy underwent a remarkable transformation, earning it the respect and admiration of the international community. Before his sudden exit, he was the Inspector General of the Defence Forces.
Beyond his military accomplishments, General Ngouah Ngally was renowned for his expertise in the fields of defence, maritime security and naval strategy. He was a frequent speaker at high-level conferences and symposia, where he shared his invaluable insights on crisis management and geostrategy. His remarkable career and unwavering commitment to his fatherland will undoubtedly inspire the young generation of military leaders to be die hearted soldiers and distinguished officers in the history of Cameroon.
