Located between the CFTA mortuary and football pitch, the 4,850-square-metre site will host the Maître Bottier facility, which is expected to manufacture shoes and boots for all branches of the Defence and Security Forces.

The Head of the construction project at Visa Longchamp SARL, Elie-Martial Chokouaha, presented an overview of the site before leading the delegation on a guided tour of the future production complex.

According to the project manager, the 1,730-square-metre industrial hangar has been strategically designed to facilitate the smooth circulation of delivery vehicles around the building, thereby reducing accident-prone manœuvres. To address the site’s 2.80-metre elevation drop below the main road, engineers will construct a masonry retaining wall to stabilise the embankments.

Beyond its industrial function, the hangar will include a streamlined administrative wing comprising three offices, an entrance hall, and a dedicated office for the floor manager. The facility will also feature a garment production section, a specialised metal fabrication workshop, a quality control and packaging unit, as well as an assembly hall. Staff amenities such as restrooms and changing rooms have equally been incorporated into the design.

‎The completion of the workshop is expected within five months. The project forms part of a broader industrialisation drive within the Defence sector, which also includes plans for a munitions factory and an armoured vehicle manufacturing plant.
